About Me:
Lamb Handler is a rock and roll band in every way. They make music for us speeders and partiers that don’t know when to go home. After putting their time in experimenting with Alt, Punk and Rock acts such as Dirty Box, Semi-Pro and it could be nothing; the members of Lamb Handler decided they wanted to form a band where the song was all that mattered. No musical gymnastics or gimmicks just good rock and roll songs.
Since independently releasing their first album, “The Shepherds of Rock” in February 2007, recorded by Joel Mullis, Lamb Handler has received critical acclaim and have sat down for interviews with publications like Creative Loafing, The Village Idiot, Yes Weekly & Ear Damage to name a few. Critics say Lamb Handler is “catchy-as-hell, turbo-pop that’s practically danceable” and “some mystical hybrid of Queens of the Stone Age and Electric Six, this album should probably be kept within reaching distance at a party.”
College and Independent radio have picked up on the catchy style of Lamb Handler as well including them in heavy rotation in Asheville, NC on 105.9 The mountain, Charlotte, NC WEND 106.5 and breaking the weekly top ten in Chattanooga, TN on WAWL 95.1.
After the release of SOR the band spent most of 2007 - 08 on the road crafting the rock and roll show you’ll be glad to pay for, should always get and definitely NEED in these troubling times of Nickelback, Toby Keith and The Jonas Brothers. Lamb Handler have toured all over the South East and Eastern Seaboard playing venue's like The Orange Peel, Snug Harbor, The Garage, Rhythm and Brews, Trash Bar, Dive Bar, 10 High, Art Bar and New Brookland Tavern. The Village Idiot says “The live show from this North Carolina Quartet will have you strumming your air guitar, probably a little bit of ass shaking, and a whole lot of drinking.”
Lamb Handler played with a number of great bands this past year like The Willowz, Veruca Salt, The Griefs, Up With The Joneses, Electric Six and some of their country music heroes like Joe Buck and Bob Wayne. Seeing the road work that the band had put in and the fact that they sold out of the initial pressing of their debut record, Matt Cox at Coma Gun Records decided to help the band take that next step and signed them to a deal.
After doing some shows with Bob Wayne and Joe Buck the band was blown away by the songwriting of the "country punk" tinged rockers and was heavily influenced by their southern style. By the time Lamb Handler went into the studio to record their second album they had 16 songs that were a mix of the up tempo stoner pop that they are known for and a batch of more jangly styled songs inspired by the outlaw country music artists in the underground music scene like Hank III, Scott H. Biram, Joe and Bob. The new album “Jingle Jangle” was recorded by Atlanta recording engineer Joel Mullis at his FatBack Sound Studio. The sound of Lamb Handler is a whole new style of Southern Rock somewhere between QOTSA and Rev, H. Heat. The album flows seamlessly between the full throttle rock and roll of "Your Missin'" and "New Things to Do to You" to song's like "Old Country Music Saved the Day" where the band calls out the poseur country music artist of today and praises the real outlaws that paved the way. Jingle Jangle was finished in July 2008 and will be released on Coma Gun Records January 6, 2009 with a tour of N. America beginning January 2nd.
